In unstable and complex business environments, taking charge behavior is crucial. This study analyzes the relationship between narcissistic leadership and their taking charge behavior. This study is descriptive quantitative and used correlation analysis and structural equation modeling with the sample of employees from various levels of hotels and restaurants in Kerman. After collecting 195 complete data, reliability and validity were verified, and the research hypotheses were tested with the PROCESS macro. The results showed that there is a significant indirect relationship between leader narcissism and responsible behavior with the full mediation of role-breadth self-efficacy. Additionally, perceived organizational support significantly moderated the relationship between leadership narcissism and role-breadth self-efficacy. Higher levels of perceived organizational support enhance the link between leader narcissism and self-efficacy. This study contributes to the literature on taking charge behavior with valuable implications for organizational leaders, suggesting that they can exploit leader narcissism by enhancing organizational support and strengthening self-efficacy.
