The Future of Accommodation Industry in Vietnam: Tourists’ Booking Intention in Post-Covid-19 Era

This study analyzed the factors that affect the accommodation booking intention of Vietnamese tourists when traveling domestically in the post-Covid context. To gather data, an online questionnaire was distributed through the Facebook social network, resulting in 124 responses obtained through a convenient sampling method. The questionnaire covered various aspects such as personal protective equipment (PPE) and hygiene, negative reviews, reasonable price, accommodation attributes including accommodation value and service quality. After conducting an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and multiple regression, the results showed that service quality, reasonable price, and negative review have significant effects on the accommodation booking intention of domestic tourists in Vietnam. Meanwhile, the effects of PPE, hygiene, and accommodation value are still uncertain, especially in the ongoing aftermath of the Covid 19 pandemic. Drawing on these findings, the authors proposed relevant implications for stakeholders, especially for managers in accommodation industry. These implications can help guide decision-making and improve services in the accommodation sector.
