Structural analysis of drivers affecting event tourism and development of scenarios (Case study: Yazd city)

Abstract
Event tourism has many effects on urban areas. One of the important topics in event tourism is the analysis of drivers effective in event tourism and providing scenarios for its development. Yazd city has various types of event tourism, including cultural, climatic and historical, and considering its potential effects in the city. final purpose is to analyze the drivers of the event tourism in the city of Yazd and determine related scenarios. This research is practical and qualitative-quantitative method. The statistical population are specialist group, includes those responsible for manage tourism events, managers of Yazd tourism institutions, academic researchers, and related tourism business owners. Finally, 30 people were selected as a statistical sample using the snowball method. The analysis of drivers has been done through structural analysis in Micmac software. After analyzing the drivers’ factors, related scenarios were compiled through scenario writing and in the scenario wizard software. According to the results, factors such as the creation of scientific and research working groups, paying attention to the issue of material benefits of holding events, the mental image of tourists in Yazd city and their desire to travel again, using the globalization capacity of Yazd city, diversifying events are considered as drivers of tourism development, and corresponding scenarios were presented which is based on scientific activities, banking, diplomacy, smart technology, tourist satisfaction, land preparation and strategic document, attention to children and evaluation of popularity of events.
