Crisis communication framework in tourism from the perspective of media

Abstract
News coverage and crisis communications play a significant role in the tourism industry. A crisis increases the need for people to seek information about the emergency and for immediate and reliable information. Corona disease affected tourism-related businesses and was shown in the news coverage of Iran and the world. This research aims to investigate the total framework of crisis communication in the media in the field of tourism and during the outbreak of Corona (during the crisis). Among the selected media, Hamshahri online media was selected. The number of 4000 titles and news content with the key titles of "Tourism" and "Corona" that were published from 01/12/2018 to 31/02/2014 were extracted as research data from the Hamshahri Online website. Out of this number of news, 3474 news were analyzed for qualitative content analysis. The extracted news content was thematically coded using MAXQDA software and manually, and in this way, 5 main categories were extracted from the news text: government planning and policies, tourism businesses, information, and dominant view. The field of travel, the horizon of tourism after the crisis. In the meantime, the reflection of the government's activities and actions regarding policymaking during the Corona period has been reflected more than in other cases, and in contrast to the prevailing views about the Corona, which also includes the people's views, it has had the least amount of reflection by far. The results of this research can be of great help to policymakers in future crises.
