Past, present and future: Trends in health tourism researches at the Pabmad base

Abstract
Health tourism is a relatively emerging field of knowledge that can create a dynamic multi-disciplinary economic activity by integrating businesses in the field of medicine, wellness, and tourism and travel. This research was conducted to examine documents, trends in health tourism research based on a database that is a specialized database in the field of health; Based on this, in the period of 34 years (1988 to 2022), about 254 related documents were identified and examined and evaluated. For this purpose, in order to code and extract the components from the qualitative method of theme analysis (theme) through three stages of code "Open, axial, optional" setting is used in Max QD 2020 software. The research results have shown; institutional factors and networking (institutional development, institutional participation); Markets (demand and behavior), destinations (advertisement development and destination development and infrastructure improvement), and development environments (policies and impacts) emerged as the four main research topics in the field of health tourism. By integrating and creating common goals with other related bodies and institutions, health tourism can create suitable opportunities for developing countries, including Iran, to achieve sustainable development goals. In this research, based on the results of the research, suggestions for related policies and effective strategies have been presented, which can provide knowledge and insight for researchers and policy makers in this field.
