Abstract
Success in project management requires application of related knowledge areas. The nature of tourism projects is sensitive to certain principles. If those kinds of certain principles has not followed by project manager during construction, it affects failure in the project and has several destructive consequences. Accordingly, this study has been conducted with the aim of analyzing and compiling a network of required knowledge areas for tourism project management with a sustainable development approach. The present research is kind of developmental and applied type, and its approach is qualitative. The Logical reasoning is used as a strategy in this research. Theories, documents, papers related to the subject, and interviews are utilized and review under thematic analysis to extract required knowledge areas in order to answer the research question. According to the network of required knowledge areas, the tourism project management require to pay attention to diversity management, energy management and beneficiary management in addition to the knowledge areas of project management to be succeeded in. In general, the findings of this study lead to the promotion of theoretical knowledge in the field of tourism project management with a focus on the sustainable development approach.
