Factors and drivers affecting the job security of tourist guides of Tehran

Abstract
Tourist guides, as a link between tourists and destination communities, can play an important role in tourism development by providing services, expressing the attractiveness of tourist attractions and places. Considering the role of these guides in the development of tourism, paying attention to them and identifying the factors affecting their job security can lead to the development of tourism. The purpose of this study is to investigate factors and drivers affecting the job security of tourist guides in Tehran. The purpose of this research is applied, and its method is descriptive-survey. The statistical population includes tourist guides in Tehran. With simple random sampling method, 210 tourist guides were selected as samples. The research results showed 152 people, equivalent to 74.2% of tourist guides, believed that they do not have job security and are facing job insecurity. The results of the research on the indicators affecting the job security of tourist guides showed that behavior, power of expression, appearance and dress, responsibility, communication skills, professional attitude, having accurate information, coach/management, knowledge, insurance, and job rights have greater impact on the job security of tourist guides. The results in the field of general factors affecting the job security of tourist guides of Tehran showed that among the 3 general research factors, respectively, the individual-personal factor with an impact factor (0.647), the specialized-professional factor with an impact factor (.550) 0) and the institutional-policy factor with an impact factor (0.464) had the greatest impacts on the job security of tourist guides in Tehran
