Abstract
The current study aims and issues to investigate and interpret the relationship between cultural heritage tourism and values and traditions changes in the Hawraman region of Iran. Due to the conditions and requirements of the research, a mixed-method design has been selected to conduct the study. First, a survey on the impact of heritage tourism on values and traditions changes in the Hawraman region was conducted among 354 local community members. Later, using SPSS software, the data from this section were analyzed. Subsequently, a grounded theory methodology was applied to meet the objectives of the study's second segment. The essential data was sourced from three ethnographic techniques: "in-depth and unstructured interviews", "participant observation", and "review of documents". Next, using MAXQDA software the data from this section then was analyzed. The results showed a significant correlation between heritage tourism as the independent variable and values and traditions change as the dependent variable. As a consequence of the development of heritage tourism in this region, the change of values and traditions is fulfilled through various conditions and interactions such as expansion of infrastructure, trending of tourism in the region, reverse migration, change of beliefs, etc. It is important to highlight that the present research represents a pioneering effort in applying Giddens' structuration theory within the context of tourism studies.
