The results show a significant and positive relationship between residents' image of local community and their support for the development of tourism. Also, there is a significant and positive relationship between residents' image and perceived socio-cultural impacts of tourism. Residents' perception of their place affects their evaluation of the impacts of development projects and it can has an effect on support for development of tourism. Finally, the results show physical appearance of Tabriz city is the most important factor in shaping residents' perception of the local community.
